CONVENTION VENUES

TEATRO MASSIMO CITTÀ DI SIRACUSA

Via del Teatro – Siracusa (Italy)
Venue of the main convention sessions and location of the registration reception

The Teatro Massimo Città di Siracusa is a classic example of a 19th century Italian theatre-monument and as such it has always played an important role in the collective imagination of Syracusans.
Symbol of wealth, social prestige, and importance, the theater has been for decades the place where the most affluent members of the city elite gathered for entertainment and cultural exchange.
The porticoed façade overlooking via del Teatro provided shelter to the patrons’ carriages and the ground floor foyer, decorated with Pompeian motifs, anticipates the rich and plush decorations of the interiors upholstered predominantly in red velvet.
An unusual venue for… an unforgettable convention.

PALAZZO VERMEXIO – SIRACUSA TOWN HALL

Piazza Duomo 4, Ortigia – Siracusa (Italy)
Venue of the General Assembly

Located in the heart of Ortygia Island in Siracusa, in the stunning baroque Piazza Duomo, Palazzo Vermexio is the historical seat of the Syracuse Senate. It was built in the 17th century. The project for its construction was the work of the architect Giovanni Vermexio. The structure is a cube divided into two parts from the balcony. This means that the lower part of the building is Renaissance style and the upper part is Baroque. Today it is the Town Hall.
